Since they entertained large family groups, the client desired much more space and light in the kitchen.

With only a master bedroom, small closet and one bathroom on the main level, they also wanted more separation between private and guest areas. Beyond this, building envelope issues contributed to poor insulation, ice damming and water leakage.

The renovations reinforced their home against the elements, while also reinventing its aesthetics and function.

We reconstructed the roof, ceilings and walls to balance the home’s air flow, moisture and temperature. The kitchen now has a grand, open concept, with a massive island and buffet area for cooking and entertaining. A spacious walk-in closet, separate ensuite bathroom and guest powder room create separation in all the right places. The balance between openness and privacy, relaxation and elegance, is a wonderful match for the couple’s lifestyle.
